Whitney B & Kelly VG: Grab water now. This blog post will make you thirsty.

There has been a trend of fountains in the previous blog posts from room #1052, and today, we'd like to examine a type of fountain that seems to be nonexistent thus far in our travels: the highly contested water fountain (otherwise known as a drinking fountain or bubbler, if you're a true Wisconsin-ite).

Our primary source of hydration these past few days has come in the most interesting of packages with the most interesting of names. Here is a personal product placement for Watsons Water. To the people who claim that water is water, no matter where it comes from or in what container it is contained, we may agree. This most quenching of beverages takes on a new form with Watsons Water. Similar to the Chinese culture in which we are now immersed, there are many characteristics between the people of this country and our own that remain crystal clear. Though on the outside this water may appear to be a little different than we might be accustomed to (can you tell we're marketing majors?), it is nonetheless exciting. This country and its people may seem different than we are used to, but we only need to appreciate our underlying similarities (who doesn't love a bottle of water in the most dire of situations?) to begin to appreciate the ways in which our cultures differ. Even though we may not agree on which side of the sidewalk to walk on (driving on the left side of the road may have a bearing on this one), at least we can agree that, much like handling University Ave. between classes, as long as there are no cars, it's okay to cross the street.

Outside of metaphors that many may deem to be a bit of a stretch, the day was well-spent with our new friends at Li&Fung, both in the classroom and in the shopping arena of the city itself (mostly spent shopping). This is a retail trip after all.
