I am a senior majoring in Textile and Apparel Design at UW. Although most of my work is done with local materials and in conjunction with small local businesses, I am very interested in the global impact of the textile industry. The textile industry encompasses everything from very local handmade crafts that express the cultural traditions of a community, to global trade that affects the global economy. I am so looking forward to this trip so that I might become more familiar with the influential textile industry as well as the rich culture of China.
